Англійська мова: шлях від колонізації до глобалізації

Abstract

У статті розглянуто історичний, культурний та політичний аспекти масового характеру англійської мови у світі. Значну роль відведено суспільним трансформаціям в умовах зародження капіталістичного устрою в Західній Європі (XV-XVI ст.), а також переходу людства до інформаційної ери (друга половина ХХ ст.). Спільною рисою обох періодів є стрімкий розвиток англійської мови та її глобальність. У дослідженні, на основі широкого спектру наукової сучасної літератури, наведено фактичні дані щодо причин масштабування англійської у світі. The article is considered the historical, cultural and political aspects of the mass character of the English language in the world. Considerable attention has been given to social transformations in the conditions of the emergence of the capitalist system in Western Europe (15th -16th century), as well as the transition of the human being to the information age (the second half of the 20th century). The common feature of both periods is the rapid development of the English language and its globality. The study, based on a wide range of modern scientific literature, provides factual data on the reasons for the scale of English in the world.
