Українська редакція «Голосу Америки»: протидія поширенню російської дезінформації

Abstract

У статті проаналізовано матеріали Української служби «Голосу Америки», у яких наведено факти поширення російської дезінформації та боротьби з нею. Показано, що Українська служба постійно повідомляє про заходи, які здійснює керівництво західних соціальних мереж для запобігання розповсюдженню російської пропаганди, створенню фейкових аккаунтів та сторінок. Простежено, що Українська служба «Голосу Америки» у своїх повідомленнях наголошує на необхідності проєктів з медіаграмотності в Україні в умовах російської інформаційної агресії. The Ukrainian Service of the Voice of America is one of the media that, while working in the domestic information field, directs its activities to counteract the spread of Russian disinformation. The purpose of the article is to analyze the activity of the Ukrainian Service of the Voice of America in publicizing the facts of detecting and unmasking Russian disinformation during 2019. Much of the reports of the Ukrainian branch of the Voice of America, in which the facts of the spread of Russian disinformation are given, apply to social networks. Considering the importance of social networks in the modern world, their influence on the opinions and beliefs of users, the Ukrainian Service of the Voice of America also reports on their lack of effective work to prevent the spread of Russian propaganda and disinformation. By its work, the Ukrainian editorial office of Voice of America is trying to unmask the disinformation of the Russian media, inform how it is opposed by numerous public and state organizations around the world. Disinformation destroys the objective picture of the world, distorts the perception of reality, casts doubt on the obvious facts - these are the main accents of the materials of the Voice of America’s Ukrainian Service that analyze the impact of Russian propaganda and conduct of information operations. VOA Ukrainian also keeps up-to-date information on media literacy activities in Ukrainian schools that are designed to develop students' critical thinking and teach them to recognize disinformation in its various forms. The experience gained during the work in the period of confrontation between the USSR and the West, adapted to modern conditions, allows the Service to quiet effectively counteract the spread of Kremlin propaganda. The Ukrainian Service of the Voice of America remains committed to its mission "a matter of providing comprehensive and independent coverage of events and to convey the truth". This remains the main way of exposing Russian disinformation, unmasking it, and demonstrating the falsity of “Russian world” ideas that are trying to be imposed on Ukraine.
