Від холодної війни до російської військової агресії: 65 років українській редакції радіо «Свобода»

Abstract

У статті розглянуто діяльність української редакції радіо «Свобода» з часу створення на початку холодної війни і до роботи в умовах російської військової агресії проти України. Показано, що українська редакція впродовж своєї історії послідовно протистоїть радянсько-російській пропаганді. З’ясовано, що, незважаючи на технологічні зміни, які перетворили традиційного мовника в сучасну конвергентну редакцію, незмінним залишається головне її завдання – доносити об’єктивну інформацію до української аудиторії. The article investigates the peculiarities of the work of the Ukrainian editoria office of Radio Liberty that skillfully opposed the Soviet propagandists at all stages of the Cold War and subsequently effectively applied the experience gained in the conditions of counteraction to modern Russian information aggression. The purpose of the article is to get acquainted with the specifics of the activity of the Ukrainian editorial office of Radio Liberty during its 65-year history. The study used a descriptive method, as well as methods of monitoring and content analysis of scientific and specialized literature, thematic publications on professional websites. The article deals with the specifics of broadcasting of the Ukrainian editorial office of Radio Liberty and defines the historical periods of its work. The significance of the Ukrainian editorial office of Radio Liberty in the conditions of the longstanding opposition to the Soviet-Russian propaganda was analyzed. The prospect for the study is the thorough research of each historical period of the activity of the Ukrainian editorial office of Radio Liberty.Based on the analysis of the work of the Ukrainian editorial office of Radio Liberty in the historical context, the following conclusions were made: 1) the Ukrainian editorial office became one of the few media outlets that provided truthful information to the listeners in the Ukrainian SSR; 2) its programs kept the international community informed about the activities of dissidents; 3) the Ukrainian radio station has always responded to the challenges of the times, guided by clear professional standards, always delivering objective mfice of Radio Liberty remains impartial media that has consistently opposed Russian-imperial propaganda. Studying perennial editorial experience can be useful for the Ukrainian media community, especially in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war that is accompanied by constant Russian information aggression.
